New Mexico, February - March 2006
On Wednesday (3/15), five of us went out to see an old church called El
Santuario de Chimayó.  It was about a 30-minute drive from the hotel.
Over 300,000 people a year visit this church.  It is said to be built on sacred
ground.
This is the inside of the church.  There were many intricate paintings.
The dirt that the church is built on is said to have healing powers.  People
travel from all over to be cured of their ailments.  A hole in the floor is used to
gather the dirt.
This wall contains many of the crutches that were left behind after someone
had been cured.
On Friday (3/17), I headed home for Los Angeles.  My work in New Mexico was
done and I was going home!
